Ljubljana: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in a press conference alongside multiple Arab foreign ministers and Tanja Fajon, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the event was attended by several distinguished officials, including His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia; Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan; and Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Egypt.
During the conference, Tanja Fajon acknowledged the Slovenian government's appreciation for the visit of the Arab foreign ministers and praised the diplomatic efforts directed towards achieving a ceasefire in Gaza and addressing the humanitarian situation. She highlighted Slovenia's recognition of the State of Palestine in 2024 and reiterated support for a two-state solution, comprehensive peace in the region, and the reconstruction of Gaza.
Dr. Abdullatif Al Zayani expressed gratitude to Tanja Fajon for the warm reception and the Slovenian government's efforts in organizing the event. He emphasized the importance of ongoing coordination to address the central challenge in the Middle East, which is ending the war in Gaza, and acknowledged Slovenia's commitment to international law and peace.
The Foreign Minister also underscored the significance of the meeting in advancing the peace process, consistent with Bahrain's vision under King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He highlighted recent positive developments, including the establishment of the Peace Board and the continuation of the Gaza peace plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
Dr. Al Zayani conveyed Bahrain's support for President Trump's invitation to join the Peace Board, demonstrating a commitment to ending the Gaza conflict and supporting a credible political process for peace that ensures the rights of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state.
He further called for collective efforts to promote the peaceful use of nuclear energy, prevent an arms race, and address regional ballistic missile concerns in accordance with the principles of the United Nations Charter.
Emphasizing Bahrain's commitment to peace, Dr. Al Zayani noted Bahrain's role in the United Nations Security Council for the 2026-2027 term and its current leadership of the Gulf Cooperation Council. He reiterated Bahrain's dedication to a just and lasting peace between Palestinians and Israelis as a foundation for regional stability and prosperity.
