Munich: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Baroness Theresa May, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Member of the House of Lords, during the Munich Security Conference.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting focused on the longstanding bilateral ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Global Commission on Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking, which is chaired by Baroness Theresa May. Dr. Al Zayani emphasized Bahrain's commitment to combating human trafficking and promoting human rights, citing its Tier 1 ranking in the US Department of State's Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report for the eighth consecutive year.
The discussions also covered Bahrain's priorities as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for 2026-2027, along with other issues of shared interest.
The meeting was attended by Ahmed Ibrahim Al Qurainees, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Federal Republic of Germany; Ambassador Saeed Abdul Khaliq, Director of the Coordination and Follow up Sector; and the accompanying delegation.
