Foreign Minister Commends Kingdom’s Achievements on Bahrain Diplomatic Day

Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the National Human Rights Committee, commended Bahrain's diplomatic achievements and role in promoting peace, dialogue, and international solidarity under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

According to Bahrain News Agency, in a statement on Bahrain Diplomatic Day, Dr. Al Zayani highlighted the Kingdom's pride in its longstanding legacy of constructive diplomacy, characterised by moderation, openness, and prioritising dialogue to achieve global security, stability, and prosperity. The minister expressed his appreciation to Bahraini diplomacy pioneers, including His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, HM the King's Special Representative, and Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Diplomatic Affairs Advisor, along with current and past ministry staff and diplomatic missions.

He commended their dedication in enhancing Bahrain's reputation as a beacon of peace, tolerance, and respect for human rights. Dr. Al Zayani underscored Bahrain's commitment to building relations with nations worldwide based on mutual respect, international law, shared human values and international legitimacy principles. He said the Kingdom's prioritised advancing the progress of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) as a model of unity and integration, ensuring regional security and stability, and contributing to sustainable and just solutions for global conflicts, including reaching a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the provision of humanitarian aid.

Dr. Al Zayani highlighted Bahrain's successful chairing of the 33rd Arab Summit under HM the King's presidency and its initiative for an international peace conference advocating the two-state solution for Palestine and accepting it as a full member of the United Nations. Other initiatives include enhancing Arab cooperation in financial technology and digital transformation and ensuring access to healthcare and education for conflict-affected populations.

Dr. Al Zayani also highlighted Bahrain's strategic partnerships, such as the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA), with the United States in 2023 and the United Kingdom's accession to this agreement during the Manama Dialogue. The agreement aims to strengthen collaboration in defence, trade, emerging technologies, and maritime security.

The Minister expressed pride in Bahrain's global initiatives, including royal awards supporting UN efforts in promoting coexistence, women and youth empowerment, and sustainable development. He also shed light on the Kingdom's humanitarian efforts through the Royal Humanitarian Foundation, the efforts of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence in education and training, efforts to achieve the Kingdom's zero neutrality goal by 2060, and the expansion of the strategic partnership framework for sustainable development with 21 UN agencies for the period (2025-2029).

Dr. Al Zayani emphasised that Bahrain, led by HM the King's diplomatic vision and the government's initiatives supported by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, continues to promote peace diplomacy, sustainable development, and human rights, earning global recognition and respect. The minister highlighted the Kingdom's success in obtaining high international rankings in human development, digital transformation, women's advancement, and youth empowerment. He also touched on the progress in the application of alternative sentencing and advancing anti-human trafficking efforts, as well as other initiatives aligned with the National Human Rights Plan and Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
