Foreign Minister Attends Indian Embassy Republic Day Reception

Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended a reception hosted by Vinod Kurian Jacob, Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Kingdom of Bahrain, to mark the Republic Day of India.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Zayani conveyed the greetings and congratulations of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the Republic of India. He expressed their wishes for continued peace, progress, and prosperity, while also extending congratulations to the Government and people of India and to members of the Indian community residing in Bahrain.

The Foreign Minister highlighted that the partnership between Bahrain and India is characterized by more than just shared visions and mutual interests; it is also marked by the close ties between the two countries and their peoples. He emphasized the role of the Bahrain-India High Joint Commission and the contributions of Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of India. The outcomes of the Commission's meetings, the alignment of the two countries as partners, and the potential for promising areas of constructive cooperation were also noted.

Furthermore, Dr. Al Zayani mentioned that as Bahrain assumes its non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council, it will continue to collaborate closely with India to advance their shared commitment to supporting peace, security, and sustainable development at regional and international levels. He reiterated Bahrain's commitment to enhancing cooperation, bilateral relations, and partnerships.

Ambassador Jacob, in his remarks, emphasized the longstanding and robust relations between the two countries, supported by mutual dedication to enhancement and development across various domains to serve shared interests. He also expressed his wishes for the Kingdom's continued progress and prosperity.
