Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received Andrea Catalano, Ambassador of the Italian Republic to the Kingdom of Bahrain. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the longstanding bilateral cooperation between Bahrain and Italy. Discussions focused on means to enhance and develop these relations across various sectors to serve the mutual interests of both nations.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting also addressed the latest regional developments, specifically the repercussions of the hostile Iranian attacks directed at the Kingdom and the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council. The Foreign Minister and the Italian Ambassador further discussed the implications of Iran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz to international navigation. Additionally, both parties exchanged views on a range of regional and international issues of common concern.
The meeting was attended by Shaikha Al Anoud bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Acting Chief of European Affairs.
