Kuala Lumpur: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Enrique Manalo, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines, on the sidelines of the second GCC-ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur. The meeting reviewed the close historical ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Philippines and their continued development.
According to Bahrain News Agency, both sides discussed means to enhance cooperation across various sectors and expand coordination, particularly in supporting each other at international forums to further develop bilateral relations and serve the interests of both countries and their peoples. They also discussed regional and international developments, ongoing efforts to resolve conflicts, and promote global peace and security, in addition to exchanging views on topics of common interest.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Waleed Khalifa Al Manea, Ambassador of Bahrain to Malaysia; Ambassador Mohammed Abdulrahman Al Haidan, Acting Chief of the GCC Affairs Sector; and Ambassador Saeed Abdul Khaliq Saeed, Director of the Coordination and Follow-up.
