New york: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, reaffirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to peace and multilateral cooperation during his address at the United Nations General Assembly. Under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Bahrain is dedicated to upholding international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter while consolidating its strategic partnerships with the UN and its agencies.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Zayani expressed pride in Bahrain’s election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2026-2027 term. Highlighting Bahrain’s historical and civilizational heritage, he emphasized the country’s vision for regional and global peace, coexistence, and prosperity. The Minister underscored Bahrain’s commitment to peaceful conflict resolution, particularly in the Middle East, and called for a comp
rehensive ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the protection of civilians, and the expediting of humanitarian aid.
The Foreign Minister outlined Bahrain’s call for negotiations and diplomatic solutions to address the Palestinian issue, urging the international community to support the initiative from the 33rd Arab Summit, known as the ‘Bahrain Summit’, to convene an international peace conference in the Middle East. This initiative aims for a sustainable settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict through direct negotiations.
Dr. Al Zayani also emphasized Bahrain’s dedication to promoting a culture of peace, tolerance, coexistence, and dialogue between religions and cultures. He highlighted the Kingdom’s efforts to strengthen international strategic partnerships for security, peace, and prosperity, including the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement with the United States and the United Kingdom.

tarian solidarity, highlighting the Royal Humanitarian Foundation’s global projects and the Kingdom’s pursuit of net-zero carbon neutrality by 2060.
