Foreign Affairs Chief Participates in Event for Palestinian Solidarity

Manama: Ambassador Ahmed Mohammed Al Tarifi, Chief of the Arab and African Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, participated in an event marking the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian people. The event was organized by the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Bahrain, in collaboration with the United Nations in the Kingdom, on November 30.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Ambassador Al Tarifi reiterated Bahrain's steadfast support for the Palestinian cause. He emphasized Bahrain's commitment to utilizing its diplomatic efforts and membership in various United Nations bodies to support the Palestinian people's struggle for their legitimate rights.

Ambassador Al Tarifi urged the international community to fulfill its historical and moral responsibilities by earnestly working towards achieving a just and comprehensive peace. He highlighted the importance of adhering to relevant United Nations resolutions, including Security Council resolutions, the two-state solution, and the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative.

Al Tarifi further stated that during Bahrain's upcoming two-year term as a non-permanent member of the Security Council, the country will continue to support efforts to secure full United Nations membership for the State of Palestine. He stressed the necessity for the international community to uphold its legal and humanitarian responsibilities in support of this initiative, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, ensuring security and stability for all peoples of the region.
