Five Arrested with Arms and Ammunition in Khulna

Khulna: Members of joint forces in a six-hour drive today arrested five youths from two separate areas in the city. The joint forces also seized one foreign-made pistol, two rounds of ammunition, and 270 pieces of contraband yaba tablets from their possession.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrested individuals are identified as Md Razu Ahmed, son of Nurul Islam from Rupsha Strand Road, Zunaed Hossain Munna, son of Shamsur Rahman from the Shipyard area, Miraz, son of Showkot Hossain from Chanmari Masterpara area, Nirob Islam Zia, son of Md Zalal from Chanmari second lane, and Shamim Hossain, son of Hanif Shikder from Rayenda Bazar of Shoronkhola upazila in Bagerhat.

Police and local residents reported that the law enforcement agency, including the army and police, commenced the operation around 12:30 am and concluded at 6:30 am today, targeting three residences in the city. The joint forces successfully apprehended the suspects from the residence of Younus Talukder in the Chanmari area, where they were allegedly planning to commit crimes in the city, as confirmed by Howlader Sanwar Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khulna Sadar Police Station.

In connection with the arrests, a case has been filed with the Khulna Sadar police station.
