Cairo: The Arab Republic of Egypt and the Russian Federation held the first round of consular consultations in Cairo.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the consultations addressed key bilateral consular issues of mutual interest, including facilitating visa issuance for both countries, particularly for students and businesspeople. The discussions also focused on enhancing economic and trade ties and supporting investment.
The Russian side emphasised its appreciation for the growing pace of cooperation with Egypt across various domains, including tourism. This is especially significant given the annual increase in the number of Russian tourists to Egypt, which exceeded 1.5 million in 2024.
