Manama: Abdulnabi Salman, First Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives, participated in a session focusing on general budget discussions at the Singaporean Parliament during an official visit spanning from February 24 to 26. The meeting addressed legislative procedures concerning the state budget, alongside the integration of modern technology into parliamentary activities and the sharing of best practices in parliamentary diplomacy and international cooperation.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Salman underscored the pivotal role of parliamentary diplomacy in fortifying economic partnerships, enhancing foreign relations, and strengthening links between legislative bodies worldwide. He stressed the importance of drawing lessons from successful international experiences to bolster Bahrain's comprehensive development, a vision spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Furthermore, Salman highlighted the ongoing efforts of the government, under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. These initiatives are designed to bolster the local economy, with a strong emphasis on placing citizens at the heart of development and progress.
Salman also remarked that the Council of Representatives, under the chairmanship of Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, is poised to deliberate on the 2025-2026 state budget law. The council plans to engage in constructive discussions with the government to achieve a consensus prior to the law's approval.
