Algiers: Yusuf Abdulla Alhumood, Undersecretary of Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, engaged in a series of strategic bilateral meetings during the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group 2025 Annual Meetings in the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Alhumood met with Zhongjing Wang, CEO of the Multilateral Cooperation Centre for Development Finance, to explore avenues for cooperation with development institutions. He highlighted the critical role these institutions play in financing essential programmes and sectors, notably digital infrastructure, regional connectivity, and green initiatives. Alhumood reiterated Bahrain's commitment to forging effective partnerships with development entities to align with the nation's economic vision.
In another significant meeting, Alhumood conferred with Dr. Abdallah Al Dardari, Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Arab States at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). He stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation frameworks with the UNDP, reaffirming Bahrain's dedication to regional and international development efforts. The discussions focused on promoting joint initiatives to expedite the Sustainable Development Goals through knowledge exchange and strategic partnerships with UN institutions.
The discussions also encompassed a review of the current economic conditions in the region, an exchange of ideas on enhancing cooperation, and deliberations on mutual interests.
