Manama: Yousif Abdullah Al Humood, Undersecretary for Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, attended the AlUla Conference on Emerging Market Economies (EME), held in the city of AlUla, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. According to Bahrain News Agency, the conference was inaugurated by Mohammed Al Jadaan, Minister of Finance of Saudi Arabia, and was jointly organised by the Saudi Ministry of Finance and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The conference was also attended by Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the IMF. The event included panel discussions on key topics, such as challenges facing the international monetary and financial system, monetary policy amid structural shifts in the global economy, and private-sector-led development in emerging market economies. The conference aims to support international economic dialogue and enhance cooperation between countries, contributing to financial stability and sustainable growth. It serves as a platform for sharing exp eriences and expertise on global economic developments, and for discussing policies and reforms that support inclusive growth and economic resilience. Additionally, it raises international awareness of the challenges facing emerging market economies by presenting innovative solutions and initiatives for economic prosperity. On the sidelines of the conference, Undersecretary Al Humood met with Sherard Cowper-Coles, Vice President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation and partnerships in infrastructure financing and investment, and to review several topics of mutual interest.
