Dubai: Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, participated in the Young Arab Leaders Forum, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation, as part of the World Government Summit 2025 in Dubai.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister highlighted the importance of investing in human capital as a key driver of sustainable economic growth. He credited Bahrain’s achievements in this area to the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who has prioritised the development of young national talent. He also emphasised the Kingdom’s strong belief in the role of youth in driving economic growth through policies that support education, healthcare, and skill development. He noted that His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, continues to prioritise youth empowerment through skill development, knowledge enhancement, and their involvement in decision-making.
Shaikh Salman commended the ambition, adaptability, and innovative spirit of today’s youth, highlighting their ability to turn challenges into opportunities. He encouraged young Arabs to continue developing their skills and knowledge to achieve success across various domains.
He outlined Bahrain’s initiatives to empower youth, including the Prime Minister’s Fellowship Program. He emphasised the need to continue investing in education, training, and human development, particularly in digital and technical skills.
Shaikh Salman also emphasised the importance of creating a flexible economic environment to address global economic and geopolitical challenges. He highlighted the need for stronger public-private partnerships, noting the private sector’s vital role in driving economic growth, fostering a diverse and sustainable economy, and providing the necessary infrastructure for business development. He also emphasised the importance of adopting regulatory frameworks that keep pace with digital and economic advancements to foster innovation.
The Young Arab Leaders Forum hosts over 200 young leaders from across the region, as part of an initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai.
