Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Minister of Finance and National Economy, stated that the vision and strategic outlook presented in the Royal Address by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa during the opening of the fifth session of the sixth legislative term of the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives demonstrate His Majesty's ongoing commitment to reinforcing the foundations of national development and building on Bahrain's comprehensive achievements across various sectors.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Minister of Finance noted that the royal directives are vital for advancing government action and intensifying efforts to serve national interests and address citizens' aspirations. He praised His Majesty the King's acknowledgment of the government's efforts, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in enhancing the quality of government services, especially in economic affairs, and promoting national development goals.
Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa also highlighted His Majesty the King's appreciation for the security and military forces' role in safeguarding Bahrain's security and achievements against Iranian attacks. He welcomed the King's declaration of June 1 as "Day of Pledge and Loyalty" and the naming of 2027 as the "Year of Isa bin Salman," noting these occasions offer an opportunity to reinforce national loyalty and dedication values.
The Minister emphasized the need to build on past progress by translating royal directives into strategic initiatives and policies through forward-looking planning. He explained that this future vision would create a comprehensive national framework connecting the economy with society and development with sustainability, enhancing the national economy's competitiveness and promoting sustainable growth.
Moreover, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa stressed the importance of institutional cooperation between executive and legislative authorities to align efforts with national priorities. He mentioned that the King's call for a legislative session of substantive achievement underscores the need for ongoing cooperation and shared responsibility to advance comprehensive development and meet Bahrain's ambitions.
The Finance Minister also underscored the importance of supporting sustainability in energy and enhancing food and water security by modernizing legislation and improving competitiveness.
