Manama:Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, emphasized the significance of the vision and strategic outlook outlined in His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's Royal Address. Delivered at the inauguration of the fifth session of the sixth legislative term of the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives, the address underscores His Majesty's commitment to strengthening the foundations of national development and building on Bahrain's achievements across various sectors.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Finance Minister noted that the royal directives are pivotal in advancing government action and intensifying efforts to meet the nation's interests and citizens' aspirations. Shaikh Salman also commended the recognition given by HM the King to the Government's efforts, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in enhancing the quality of government services, particularly in economic affairs, and furthering national development goals.
The Minister highlighted the King's acknowledgment of the security and military forces' role in safeguarding Bahrain's security against Iranian attacks. Furthermore, Shaikh Salman welcomed the King's declaration of June 1 as the "Day of Pledge and Loyalty" and the year 2027 as the "Year of Isa bin Salman," viewing these occasions as opportunities to reinforce values of dedication and national loyalty.
Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa stressed the need for continued progress and translating royal directives into strategic initiatives and policies. He envisioned a comprehensive national framework that integrates the economy with society and development with sustainability, thereby enhancing the national economy's competitiveness and expanding citizen participation in shaping Bahrain's future.
He also underscored the importance of cooperation between executive and legislative authorities to align efforts with national priorities. The King's call for substantial achievements in the current legislative session necessitates ongoing collaboration and shared responsibility to accelerate progress and deliver on Bahrain's aspirations.
Finally, the Finance Minister pointed out the critical role of supporting sustainability in energy, as well as strengthening food and water security through legislative modernization and competitiveness enhancement.
