Finance and National Economy Ministry unveils growth indicators

The Ministry of Finance and National Economy announced a summary of the performance of a number of economic indicators during the third quarter of 2022 (Q3).

Most economic indicators achieved remarkable growth on an annual basis during the third quarter of 2022, which reflects the efforts made by the Government in a team spirit aimed at achieving sustainable economic development, whose positive benefits the nation.

In the trade sector, the number of of new commercial registers for companies grew by 39.5%, while the overall number of visitors to shopping malls soared by 18.0%. The sales at points of sale and e-commerce witnessed an increase of 15.1%, while international exports of national origin recorded a growth of 5.6%.

It is worth noting that national-origin exports achieved a remarkable growth compared to the third quarter of 2019, registering an increase of 112.5%. Bahrain Bourse (Bahrain Main Index) grew by 10.3%, and gasoline sales increased by 9.8%, and the real estate trading volume recorded a growth of 7.5%, and the occupancy rate of 5 and 4-star hotels achieved a growth By 7%, while the number of incoming trucks via the King Fahd Causeway increased by 5.5%.
