Abu dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Spartan, the globally recognized endurance and obstacle sports brand, have announced that the fifth edition of the Spartan World Championship will take place in the Al Wathba Desert, Abu Dhabi, from November 20 to 23.
According to Bahrain News Agency, thousands of elite athletes and community members are expected to participate in the four-day event, which will serve as a rigorous test of strength, endurance, and speed.
The championship will kick off on Thursday, November 20, with a women-only evening race covering a 5 km distance and featuring 20 obstacles. This event will also include a separate, closed race for women, offering participants privacy with a fully female crew and no media coverage.
On Friday, November 21, a mixed evening Sprint 5K will take place, allowing both men and women to tackle 20 obstacles over a 5 km course. This race is considered one of the most demanding Spartan World Races.
Saturday, November 22, will feature the Beast 21K World Championships, catering to Elite, Age Groups, and Open categories, with participants facing 30 obstacles over a 21 km distance. Additionally, competitive Kids Races ranging from 1 to 3 km will occur on the same day.
The Spartan World Championship will culminate on Sunday, November 23, with the Elite Teams World Championship. This competition will include teams of three athletes, comprising two males and one female. The final day will also host the Super 10K Open and the Sprint 5K Open events.
