FIBA Congress Delegates Experience Bahraini Culture at ‘Bahraini Night’

Manama: International delegations attending the 2025 FIBA Congress and Hall of Fame ceremony participated in "Bahraini Night," a cultural event highlighting the Kingdom's heritage.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the event was attended by prominent figures such as His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee; Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism; Ayman bin Tawfiq Al Moayyed, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports; and Shaikh Saud bin Ali Al Thani, President of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).

The evening featured traditional music and folk performances representing local heritage, including Fjiri, which is recognized on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list. Guests engaged with the performances, experiencing Bahraini customs and traditions in an inviting atmosphere that added a cultural dimension to the global sporting event.

Visitors also enjoyed traditional Bahraini dishes, providing a comprehensive cultural experience. International delegates praised the event's organization and environment, which reflected Bahrain's spirit and its commitment to culture and heritage. They described "Bahraini Night" as a highlight of their visit, merging sport and culture while fostering human connections.

The event was part of the Supreme Organising Committee of the FIBA Congress's efforts to showcase Bahrain's cultural identity to the 500 participants from 180 countries attending the region's first FIBA Congress in the Gulf and Middle East.
