Senate President Faysal Fayez said Saturday that His Majesty King Abdullah II “is leading the process of comprehensive reform, with its political, economic and administrative dimensions… these files have become a national priority for the King.” Fayez made his remarks in a speech before the monthly symposium held by the Department of Facilities and Cultural Programmes in the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) entitled: “Jordan’s Great Challenges and Future Horizon” on challenges facing Jordan to political, economic and administrative reform. Fayez said: “His Majesty the King has always emphasised that the challenges facing Jordan and the region should not stop the aspirations of Jordanians for a prosperous, self-reliant Jordan capable of facing political and economic challenges and the problems of poverty and unemployment.” He added that the desired political reform, noting that constitutional amendments have been made and legislation regulating political work has been approved, leading to a “distinguished” stage of political reform.
