EWA Advances Infrastructure in Muharraq City Development Plan

Muharraq: In line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) is advancing the Muharraq City Development Plan. This initiative also includes the restoration of Isa Al Kabeer Palace, ensuring the preservation of the city's historical and cultural identity.

According to Bahrain News Agency, EWA's specialised teams are collaborating with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and other government entities to prepare electricity and water networks. The teams are adopting modern infrastructure designs and relocating conflicting networks to ensure smooth execution of the project. As part of the efforts, two substations are being constructed near Isa Al Kabeer Palace, with plans for three additional substations.

The Authority has stated that its efforts are focused on balancing heritage preservation with future development. This approach aims to enhance the sustainability of national infrastructure and support Bahrain's strategic objectives in urban development.
