Manama: European stocks closed lower but posted monthly gains, supported by strong corporate earnings that outweighed geopolitical concerns and uncertainty over artificial intelligence sector valuations. The pan-European STOXX 600 index fell 0.1% to 649.19 points after reaching a record high earlier in the session before giving up its gains.
According to Bahrain News Agency, investor concerns over heavy spending on artificial intelligence infrastructure and the pace of expected returns continued to weigh on valuations, contributing to increased market volatility.
