Eshaq Ibrahim Becomes First Bahraini Appointed to IWF Executive Board

Manama: The International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) has appointed Eshaq Ibrahim Eshaq, President of the Bahrain Weightlifting Federation, as a member of its Executive Board. This appointment marks a historic moment as he becomes the first Bahraini to hold this position in the IWF's 120-year history.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the appointment recognizes Eshaq's contributions to the development of weightlifting. His active presence in international and continental forums, along with strong relationships across the global weightlifting community, has been instrumental in his selection.

Eshaq expressed pride in receiving this international recognition, viewing it as a significant milestone for Bahraini, Arab, and Asian sports. He credited the achievement to the continuous support from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as well as His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King's Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
