Erdogan announces that his security forces will carry out more determined and effective security operations against terrorism this Summer

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the Turkish security forces were able to kill hundreds of Kurdistan Workers’ Party militants this year, stressing the continuation of carrying out “more determined and effective” anti-terrorism operations during this Summer.

Erdogan said, during a graduation ceremony for the Police Academy in the capital, Ankara, on Tuesday: ‘No one can imprison a country like Turkey, which was founded on the remains of a global empire, in the shallow waters of racism and vile fascism.’

The Turkish President announced that his security forces neutralized 1,045 PKK militants during the past 12 months, including 7 wanted by the Red Notice, stressing that his country will carry out ‘more determined and effective’ counter-terrorism operations throughout the months of this summer.

Erdogan stressed that they will not tolerate attempts to harm Turkey’s economy, tourism, trade and public diplomacy, noting that through the reforms that have been implemented since 2002, they have
put an end to the mentality that puts security in exchange for law and democracy, and have tried to ensure the security of the state and the stability of the people by maintaining a delicate balance between security and freedom.

The Turkish President added: “While our police are a nightmare for poison dealers, criminal organizations, gangs and terrorists who act as servants of the imperialists, they must also be a source of confidence and stability for our people.”

He stressed that Turkey had achieved historic gains in recent years during its struggle against the terrorist PKK organization, for which it paid a heavy material and moral price.
