Environment Minister Highlights National Environment Day’s Focus on Sustainability

Manama: Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Dainah, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, emphasized that National Environment Day, observed annually on February 4, marks a significant occasion for the Kingdom of Bahrain to reaffirm its dedication to environmental protection and the advancement of Sustainable Development Goals.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Bin Dainah noted that environmental protection is a core component of Bahrain's comprehensive development strategy, guided by the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and directives from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The focus remains on enhancing policies and initiatives aimed at ensuring the sustainability of natural resources for future generations.

Dr. Bin Dainah acknowledged the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for the Environment, in overseeing national environmental initiatives. He commended the Supreme Council for the Environment and personnel across the environmental sector for their contributions.

Furthermore, he stressed the importance of collaboration among government, private sector, and civil society in raising environmental awareness and addressing challenges related to climate and pollution. The implementation of strategic plans for marine and terrestrial protection, waste management, and clean energy is aligned with the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
