Electricity and Water Services Stable Despite Drone Attack, Says Minister

Manama: Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, emphasised that the Kingdom of Bahrain's electricity and water production, transmission, and distribution systems are operating at full readiness, ensuring stable supplies and uninterrupted essential services. This assurance comes in the wake of a recent drone attack that targeted a water desalination plant in Bahrain.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister conducted an inspection visit to the affected plant to review operational processes, production systems, and monitoring and control operations. During his visit, he assessed the measures taken to address the impact of the incident and maintain supply stability. Despite the material damage caused by the drone attack, Minister Humaidan confirmed that water supplies remain unaffected and production continues as normal.

Specialised technical teams are currently assessing the damage and carrying out necessary repairs. The minister praised the efforts of national personnel in the electricity and water sector for their role in maintaining service stability. He also acknowledged the rapid response of civil defence teams and relevant authorities in securing the site and ensuring public safety.
