Eight Police Officers Killed in Colombia Helicopter Crash After Drone Attack

Tokyo: Colombian authorities announced that eight police officers were killed and eight others injured after a police helicopter crashed in the northwest of the country. President Gustavo Petro said the incident occurred near the town of Amalfi in Antioquia Department. He noted that initial investigations suggest the helicopter was targeted by a drone operated by a dissident group from the former leftist FARC organisation.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the helicopter was returning from a security mission, accompanied by another aircraft, after deploying police officers in the area before it was struck and brought down.
