Manama: Egypt's unemployment rate fell by 0.2% in the second quarter of 2025 compared to the previous quarter, reaching 6.1% of the total labour force, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
According to Bahrain News Agency, the labour force in Egypt totaled 33.614 million in Q2, reflecting a 0.5% increase from 33.447 million in Q1. This growth in the labor force indicates a positive trend in employment opportunities within the country.
The number of unemployed individuals stood at 2.054 million, which includes 932,000 men and 1.122 million women. This figure represents a decrease of 57,000 from the previous quarter, marking a 2.7% reduction. Additionally, there was a slight reduction of 4,000 in the number of unemployed people compared to the same quarter last year, equating to a 0.2% decrease.
