Egypt’s Food Industry Exports Surge to $5.5 Billion in 2024

CAIRO: Egypt's food industry exports have soared to $5.5 billion within the first 11 months of 2024, reflecting a significant 17% increase compared to the same period in 2023. This surge marks the highest export value achieved by the sector during this time frame.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Export Council for Food Industries of Egypt reported that exports to Arab countries topped the list of most significant international importers of Egyptian processed food. The European Union followed closely behind. The statement further highlighted that exports to African countries reached $464 million, accounting for 8% of the total exports.

The increase in exports is indicative of Egypt's expanding presence in global markets, showcasing the country's capability to meet international demand with its processed food products. The growth in exports underscores the strategic importance of the food industry in Egypt's economy, contributing to a broader economic expansion.

Industry analysts suggest that this upward trend in exports could continue as Egypt strengthens trade relations and explores new markets. The data from the first 11 months of 2024 could signal a promising future for the country's food industry sector, potentially driving further investment and development initiatives.
