Egyptian and Belgian Foreign Ministers Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Cairo: Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, held a meeting with Bernard Quintin, the Belgian Foreign Minister, to discuss the enhancement of relations between Egypt and Belgium.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Minister Abdelatty expressed his eagerness to maintain and expand coordination with his Belgian counterpart, aiming to capitalize on the current momentum in bilateral ties. The focus is on fostering cooperation across various political, economic, and investment sectors.

Minister Abdelatty highlighted the significant involvement of Belgian companies in the Egypt-EU Investment Conference, which took place in June 2024. During the conference, a substantial investment agreement was signed for the construction of a green hydrogen plant in the industrial zone of the Port of Gargoub, marking a pivotal development in the nations' economic relations.

Additionally, the Egyptian foreign minister emphasized the country's commitment to recovering smuggled antiquities, in line with presidential directives. These antiquities are considered vital to Egypt's historical and cultural heritage, underscoring the importance of their restoration.
