CAIRO, Egypt reaffirmed its strong support for Yemen’s unity, independence, and territorial integrity, emphasizing Yemen’s critical role in Egyptian national security and the stability of the Arab and Red Sea regions.
A statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry noted the remarks were made during the Egypt-Yemen strategic dialogue on Tuesday, attended by Egyptian Ambassador Dr. Muhammad Al-Badri, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Yemeni Ambassador Khaled Mahfouz Bahah.
The statement added that the meeting discussed various aspects of bilateral relations in preparation for presentation to the foreign ministers of both countries.
The meeting also addressed the Palestinian issue. Both sides emphasized the necessity of an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, ending military operations in Rafah, and facilitating humanitarian aid.
Furthermore, both sides discussed developments in Sudan and Libya, stressing their identical positions on these issues.
