Education Ministry Updates Operational Procedures to Enhance Flexibility in Service Delivery

Manama: The Ministry of Education has announced updates to the exceptional operational procedures implemented across educational institutions, as part of its ongoing reviews aimed at enhancing flexibility in the delivery of educational services and ensuring their optimal utilisation.

According to Bahrain News Agency, under the updated procedures, early education institutions, including nurseries and kindergartens, will be permitted to resume operations. Parents may choose whether to utilise these services, with all such institutions set to reopen from Sunday, April 5, 2026.

The Ministry also approved the resumption of in-person services for students with special needs (people of determination) in both public and private schools. Attendance will remain optional for parents, with services scheduled to recommence on Sunday, April 5, 2026.

Additionally, private schools have been authorised to conduct assessment processes related to international qualifications through flexible programmes agreed with awarding international bodies. This measure aims to ensure that students obtain their certificates and graduation statements without compromising academic standards, safeguarding their future academic prospects.

All students in public and private schools, as well as other educational institutions, will continue with remote learning until further notice from the Ministry.

Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, affirmed that the updated operational procedures provide greater flexibility in accessing services related to special education and early childhood education, while offering parents broader choices. He added that the measures also protect the interests of students pursuing international qualifications by providing an appropriate alternative assessment known as the 'no exam route'.

The Minister commended the commitment of public and private schools to assessment processes conducted through digital platforms, ensuring the continuity of education and evaluation without disruption. He also expressed his appreciation to all educational personnel for their ongoing cooperation and adherence to the Ministry's approved policies and regulatory procedures.
