Manama: The Ministry of Education and the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) convened a strategic meeting with the National Basketball Association (NBA) to discuss the development of school basketball programs.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was graced by the presence of Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, alongside His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the BOC, and Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of the General Sports Authority. Officials from the education and sports sectors also participated in the discussions.
The central focus of the meeting was to explore avenues for cooperation between the education sector and the NBA. The aim is to enhance the skills of students and teachers in both public and private schools through a comprehensive program. This initiative targets the development of school basketball in various areas.
The parties involved agreed to initiate and finalize the necessary steps to establish this partnership. This collaboration is intended to bolster national efforts in advancing school sports via professional programs and initiatives.
