Manama: Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, presented a paper on integrating technology and artificial intelligence (AI) in education during a ministerial session at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) headquarters as part of Digital Week in Paris.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister discussed various models for incorporating technology into the educational sector, highlighting both the benefits and challenges associated with such integration. He emphasized the necessity of balancing technological use with traditional classroom practices to ensure a holistic educational experience.
Dr. Juma reviewed several programmes and initiatives that have been implemented by the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Bahrain. These initiatives leverage technology and AI to enhance student performance and improve teacher training. He also addressed the considerations that must be taken into account when incorporating AI into the educational process, cautioning against potential unintended outcomes.
The session concluded with the minister's recommendations, which underscored the importance of ensuring the right to education for all, particularly in a time characterized by rapid advancements in technology and AI.
