Education Minister Meets Times Higher Education VP to Discuss National Strategy

Manama: Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Higher Education Council Board of Trustees, met with Nick Davis, Vice President of Times Higher Education, which is responsible for international university rankings.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Juma praised the efforts of the Times Higher Education team, working in collaboration with the Higher Education Council, in developing the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research for 2026-2036. He emphasized the thorough methodology employed in the strategy's development, which included comprehensive meetings with pertinent public and private entities, benchmarking against leading international practices and standards, and conducting data-driven analysis of the current and prospective higher education systems and institutions.

Dr. Juma also stressed the significance of strengthening collaboration among Times Higher Education, the Higher Education Council, and educational institutions. He pointed out that ongoing coordination is crucial for implementing the strategy and its operational plans, enhancing governance and institutional performance, improving the quality of outcomes, and fostering the development of human capacities across the sector. This includes students and academics, with an aim to achieve sustainable development goals and address national priorities.
