Education Minister Meets IBO Officials to Discuss IB Implementation in Bahrain

Manama: Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, received Mary Tadros, Senior Manager of Development and Recognition at the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO), along with Dr. Kawther Saa'd Al Din, Manager of Development and Recognition at the Organisation. The meeting focused on the implementation of the International Baccalaureate (IB) project in public schools, overseen by the Ministry of Education. Plans for launching a pilot phase in select intermediate and secondary schools were a key topic of discussion.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister praised the IBO's collaboration with the Ministry in executing this project. He emphasized that Bahrain will be the first Gulf country to roll out the IB programme in public schools. The initiative aims to provide students with an internationally recognized qualification, preparing them for university studies through a curriculum that emphasizes languages, sciences, mathematics, arts, and social sciences. It also aims to develop personal, social, and creative skills by integrating curricula with real-world contexts.

Mary Tadros expressed her appreciation for the partnership between the IBO and the Ministry of Education. She commended the progress of Bahrain's education system and expressed her anticipation for the inaugural phase of the project.
