Manama: Dr. Shaikha Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Board Member of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) and Chairperson of the Committee on Equal Opportunities and Gender Balance in Sports, attended training sessions of the Bahrain women's futsal team as they prepared for the Asian Games. During her visit, she conveyed greetings from His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the BOC, commending the efforts of the coaching staff and players in representing the Kingdom of Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Shaikha Hessa also visited the Bahrain women's volleyball team, where she inspected their technical preparations and overall readiness for competition. She expressed her confidence in the abilities of Bahraini female athletes to deliver performances that reflect the development of women's sports in the Kingdom. She highlighted that this participation serves as an opportunity to showcase national talent and elevate Bahrain's profile at the Asian Games.
Dr. Shaikha Hessa emphasized the Committee's full support for all national teams while underlining the empowerment of women athletes as a key focus in the Committee's vision. This commitment aims to promote gender balance in sports and achieve further accomplishments at regional and continental levels.
