DPA head, UN coordinator discuss services in Palestinian refugee camps

Director General of the Department of Palestinian Affairs (DPA) Rafiq Kherfan and United Nations Resident Coordinator in Jordan Sheri Ritsema-Anderson on Wednesday discussed education, health, and relief services in Palestinian refugee camps in Jordan. Upon receiving Anderson, Kherfan spoke about the department’s efforts to improve living conditions in Palestinian refugee camps through projects and royal gifts, in addition to the government’s financial support for service committees and sports clubs in camps. Highlighting the important role played by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in providing aid and relief for refugees, he mentioned the negative repercussions of the financial crisis suffered by UNRWA on the services provided to refugees.
