Manama: The Director General of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science participated in the 42nd meeting of the Committee of Directors General of Criminal Investigation from GCC states, held via videoconference with security representatives from member states. He extended the greetings of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, to attendees, commending the efforts of the GCC Secretariat General and the GCC Police in supporting joint Gulf security cooperation and enhancing coordination frameworks to address emerging challenges.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Director General emphasized that the meeting reflects the GCC states’ commitment to unify views and intensify cooperation to combat crime in all its forms, especially amid the rise of organised and cross-border crime and technological developments that have introduced new security threats. He also highlighted the importance of continuing to exchange expertise and best practices in criminal investigations to improve performance and enhance the efficiency of security services.
The meeting discussed important security topics, including mechanisms to develop cooperation between criminal investigation departments in GCC states, information exchange on crimes, reviewing best practices to combat crime and enhance security and stability, adopting preventive and proactive measures to share information and experiences among concerned authorities and the Gulf Police affiliated with the Secretariat’s Security Affairs assistance, and exchanging expertise in fighting crime.
