Manama: In its efforts to enhance advanced research and training pathways, the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat) organised a specialised training course titled 'Artificial Intelligence Tools for Shaping the Future of Energy Investments'. The course brought together a select group of national researchers and experts representing several national institutions and leading companies in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, this course is part of a series of executive training programmes launched by the Center, which aims to enable national talents to employ A.I. tools in energy data analysis, anticipate future transformations in global markets, and strengthen the capacity for evidence-based and knowledge-driven policymaking.
The course, delivered by Dr. Omar Ahmad Al Ubaydli, Director of Studies and Research at Derasat; Dr. Abdullah Isa Al Abbasi, Director of the Energy and Environment Programme; and Engineer Sabika Khalid Ismail, a programme researcher, included presentations on various models and practical AI applications in energy efficiency management, supply chain analysis, and the development of innovative solutions to achieve carbon neutrality. It also featured discussions on global trends in integrating smart technologies into renewable energy projects.
Abdulla Mohamed Alahmed, Derasat CEO, affirmed that this course represents an advanced step in the Center's efforts to build specialised national capabilities that combine strategic analysis with the practical application of modern technologies. He noted that Derasat is working to strengthen its position as a leading think tank that contributes to developing the skills of talented professionals across several fields within its scope of work.
The course is part of a comprehensive set of training programmes developed by Derasat to enhance integration between research and training, reinforcing the Center's role as an intellectual and knowledge platform supporting the national transition toward a knowledge-based economy.
