Deputy Prime Minister of Bahrain Meets with Arab Tourism Organisation President to Strengthen Regional Tourism Cooperation

Manama: Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, met with Dr. Bandar bin Fahd Al Fuhaid, President of the Arab Tourism Organisation, during his official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting aimed to enhance collaboration and promote sustainable tourism development across the Arab region, with the presence of Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussions centered around planned programmes between the Arab Tourism Organisation and Bahrain's Ministry of Tourism. These programmes focus on supporting tourism entrepreneurship, expanding training and capacity-building in tourism, hospitality, and hotel services, and encouraging innovation and investment in the sector.

The Deputy Prime Minister reiterated Bahrain's commitment to becoming a leading global tourism destination through strategic investments in infrastructure, hosting international events, and fostering regional and international partnerships. These initiatives align with the comprehensive development goals led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and overseen by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla also emphasized the importance of joint Arab action in tourism, acknowledging its role in promoting sustainable economic growth and facilitating cultural and knowledge exchange across the region. He lauded the Arab Tourism Organisation's efforts in empowering industry professionals and fostering a vibrant and competitive tourism environment.

During the meeting, Shaikh Khalid received a report on the Organisation's latest achievements, along with a commemorative shield and a sample of its new initiative, the Arab Tourist Credit Card. Dr. Al Fuhaid commended the robust partnership between Bahrain and the Organisation, and praised the Kingdom's ambitious tourism strategy, highlighting achievements in promotion, product diversification, and infrastructure integration.
