Manama: Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, issued Edict (1) of 2025 regarding the rules and conditions for classifying a real estate development project or shared property as a gated community.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the edict was based on a proposal by the Real Estate Regulatory Authority's (RERA) Board of Directors and received approval from the Ministerial Committee for Development and Infrastructure Projects. This move is aimed at standardizing the classification process and ensuring regulated development within the real estate sector.
The edict outlines specific criteria that must be met for a real estate development or shared property to be recognized as a gated community. These criteria are expected to guide developers and stakeholders in the planning and execution of such projects, ensuring that all necessary regulations and standards are upheld.
The initiative reflects a strategic effort to enhance the infrastructure and real estate landscape, aligning with broader development goals. The involvement of the Ministerial Committee for Development and Infrastructure Projects underscores the importance of this edict in the context of national development priorities.
