Deputy Prime Minister Inaugurates Middle East Oil, Gas and Geosciences Show

Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, deputised Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, to inaugurate The Middle East Oil, Gas and Geosciences Show (MEOS GEO), held under the theme 'Energy for a prosperous future: Leading a sustainable tomorrow'. The event emphasizes Bahrain's commitment to the energy sector under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and directives of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the Kingdom's focus on comprehensive growth and enhancing national economic competitiveness. He noted that the oil and gas sector, led by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, continues to advance through balanced policies that expand production capacity and operational efficiency while improving environmental impact.

The Deputy Prime Minister stated that these efforts align with Bahrain's national sustainability objectives and transition goals, aiming for modernisation and development. He explained that recent progress in Bahrain's energy ecosystem is due to diversifying the energy mix, developing regulatory frameworks, strengthening international partnerships, and investing in training Bahraini professionals.

The importance of MEOS GEO was also highlighted, noting its role in supporting Bahrain's position as a hub for innovative energy solutions. The Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the organisers, including the Ministry of Oil and Environment, and hoped for practical recommendations from the event discussions.

Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Dainah, Minister of Oil and Environment, expressed appreciation to the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for patronising the event and the Deputy Prime Minister for attending the opening. He described the conference as a platform for enhancing regional and international cooperation in energy and geosciences.

Dr. Bin Dainah noted the wide participation of national and international institutions, which underscores confidence in Bahrain as a destination for technical and research-focused events. Following the opening, the Deputy Prime Minister inaugurated the accompanying exhibition, featuring over 120 companies showcasing innovations and advanced solutions in the energy sectors.
