Manama: Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, inaugurated the Hilton Bahrain City Centre Hotel and Residences in Seef District. Shaikh Khalid affirmed that Bahrain’s tourism sector remains a key national priority, serving as a vital driver of economic diversification in line with the country’s development plans.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that the government’s growing focus on tourism development is part of a broader vision to enhance infrastructure, expand services, and create an attractive, sustainable environment capable of drawing more visitors and encouraging high-quality investments in hospitality. Shaikh Khalid emphasized that the new property adds value to Bahrain’s hospitality landscape and reflects the confidence of leading international hotel brands in the Kingdom’s investment climate.
Shaikh Khalid further added that Hilton’s expanding presence in Bahrain strengthens the competitiveness of the tourism sector and offers visitors more high-standard accommodation options, supporting the sector’s contribution to economic growth. The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted that Bahrain continues to advance steadily in implementing the Tourism Sector Strategy 2022-2026, which aims to position the Kingdom as a global tourism hub and increase the sector’s share of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to 11.4% by 2026.
On her part, Fatima bint Jaffar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism, noted that the hotel’s opening marks an important step in strengthening Bahrain’s hospitality capacity amid growing demand. Mahmood Mohamed Faqeeh, Chairman of Bahrain City Centre Towers, and owner of the project, said that the opening reflects the government’s commitment to supporting hotel investments and projects that advance the tourism and hospitality domains.
