Deputy Prime Minister Chairs Weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace

Manama: His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister, today chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace. The meeting focused on the directives issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, which have set a clear roadmap for the future of Bahrain, emphasizing national progress and the Kingdom's comprehensive development.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Cabinet highlighted the instructions from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to expedite the implementation of His Majesty's directives. This involves comprehensive measures to close identified gaps in the defence and economic sectors, enhancing national preparedness and capability to meet challenges. Legal measures against those undermining national security and stability are to be initiated immediately, with a review of Bahraini citizenship entitlements to follow.

The Cabinet also emphasized strategic planning and management as a core government approach, ensuring the continuity of efficient and responsive performance. Relevant authorities are tasked with reviewing legal and procedural frameworks concerning nationality, ensuring alignment with national standards and legal compliance.

The Cabinet underscored the necessity of unified national efforts and community cohesion to overcome challenges and work towards Bahrain's progress and prosperity. Condemnation of Iranian aggression was reiterated, with a call for Iran to cease hostilities and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Additionally, the Cabinet reviewed the Kingdom's banking sector's response to directives on launching a loan deferral and liquidity support programme. It approved several memorandums, including a draft resolution on scholarships for government-employed doctors, a memorandum of understanding with Greece's Ministry of Tourism, a cooperation framework with Einride AB, and responses to proposals from the Council of Representatives.

Ministerial reports on various international engagements, including the Strait of Hormuz Maritime Freedom of Navigation Initiative Summit, the visit of Kuwait's Foreign Minister, and Bahrain's participation in the Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund, were also reviewed.
