Deputy Prime Minister Chairs Second Quarter IPA Board Meeting

Manama: Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, chaired the second quarter meeting of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Public Administration (IPA). During the meeting, the Board reviewed and discussed various aspects concerning the growth and future plans of the institute.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Board took note of the increase in participation in IPA's courses and programmes, with the number of trainees rising from 1,466 in 2023 to 3,596 in 2024. This marks an increase of over 145%, highlighting the growing interest and investment in public and private sector training.

The meeting also covered key achievements by the institute's departments during the first quarter of the current year. The Board was informed about the progress on IPA's international accreditation as a certified centre and its integration into the National Qualifications Framework, which are significant milestones for the institution.

Financial discussions were also on the agenda, as the Board reviewed the budget for the 2025-2026 financial years and approved the final account for the fiscal year ending 31 December 2023. These financial plans are crucial for ensuring the sustainable growth and development of the institute's programs and initiatives.

Additionally, the Board approved the launch of the "Itqan" Programme. This initiative aims to offer training courses and programmes in real work environments, spanning fields such as engineering, human resources, financial resources, and media. The programme will be conducted in coordination with the Civil Service Bureau and in collaboration with relevant ministries and government entities, aiming to enhance practical skills and knowledge across various sectors.
