Deputy Prime Minister Chairs Ministerial Committee Meeting on Development and Infrastructure

Manama: Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, chaired the 294th meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Development and Infrastructure Projects. The committee expressed pride in the Kingdom of Bahrain's continued progress and development under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which have reinforced the Kingdom's stability and prosperity.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the committee commended the Kingdom's commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty, protecting citizens and residents, and preserving national achievements. It also noted the effectiveness of Bahrain's security, defence, and civil systems in responding to the Iranian attacks that targeted civilians, residential buildings, private property, and facilities. In this regard, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah directed the relevant authorities to address damage to civil infrastructure caused by the attacks and to rehabilitate it to ensure the continued provision of vital services at the highest levels of efficiency, while working to further develop them.

The committee expressed appreciation for the efforts of all concerned entities and for the solidarity and national awareness demonstrated by citizens, highlighting their unity in supporting the leadership of His Majesty the King and the backing of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. It emphasized that these challenges would further strengthen national unity and determination to move forward with confidence towards continued development and prosperity.

The committee reviewed items on its agenda, including updates on food security projects related to strengthening livestock sector infrastructure and regulating traditional fishing mechanisms. It approved a draft decision naming members of the National Committee for Geospatial Information Governance.

The committee also reviewed measures taken in response to rainfall across the Kingdom. Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah directed the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture and the Ministry of Works to intensify efforts to drain rainwater, address water accumulation in various areas, and ensure quick response to reports in order to maintain smooth traffic flow and protect the safety of citizens, residents, and their property.

Additionally, the committee reviewed periodic reports on the progress of the Building Permit System (Benayat), governance procedures for land acquisition and compensation at the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, service level agreement performance indicators at the Urban Planning and Development Authority, and performance indicators related to the completion of surveying transactions at the Survey and Land Registration Bureau.
