Deputy Prime Minister Chairs Key Cabinet Meeting Focusing on Regional and International Developments


Gudaibiya: His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister, chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace. The Cabinet underscored the significance of the recent meeting between His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, which aims to bolster relations and bilateral cooperation.



According to Bahrain News Agency, the Cabinet acknowledged that the visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Bahrain reaffirms a mutual commitment to enhancing coordination between the two nations, especially in light of recent regional developments. On the International Day of Peace, the Cabinet reiterated His Majesty the King’s dedication to pioneering initiatives that foster peace and coexistence, supporting security, stability, development, and prosperity.



The Cabinet reviewed the latest regional and international developments, welcoming the Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit hosted by Qatar in response to the recent Israeli aggression. A Bahraini delegation, led by His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, will participate in the Summit, expressing hopes for outcomes that strengthen Arab and Islamic solidarity.



The Cabinet condemned the Israeli attack on Qatar, labeling it a breach of Qatari sovereignty and international law principles. Bahrain expressed full solidarity with Qatar’s measures to safeguard its security, offering condolences to Qatar’s leadership and citizens following the death of a member of the Internal Security Force due to the attack.



In a separate matter, the Cabinet applauded the launch of the Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard solar energy project, the largest in the marine repair and construction sector, in collaboration with Kanoo CleanMax Renewables. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended the launch. The Cabinet noted this project reflects a commitment to environmental initiatives.



The Cabinet also praised the successful hosting of the Second Global Water, Energy, and Climate Change Congress in Bahrain, highlighting the event’s significant attendance and participation. Such events underline Bahrain’s commitment to international efforts in promoting water resource sustainability.



The Cabinet extended their best wishes to doctors taking the Bahraini Board Exam for Family Medicine, the first since the Bahrain Council for Health Studies and Specialties received institutional accreditation from the Arab Board of Health Specialties.



The Cabinet welcomed the UN General Assembly’s endorsement of the New York Declaration for a two-state solution for Palestine, commending efforts by Saudi Arabia and France that led to its adoption.



The Cabinet reviewed and approved several memorandums, including restructuring government agencies for enhanced performance and operational efficiency and the government’s response to draft laws from the Council of Representatives and the Shura Council.



The Cabinet noted outcomes from various ministerial reports, including visits to Pakistan, participation in GCC sessions, dialogues with Japan and Russia, and other international engagements, reflecting Bahrain’s active role in regional and global affairs.
