Ramallah Together – The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine issued a statement, warning of the American-Israeli pressure on the Palestinian Authority and its hidden goals, and the danger it poses to national interests and to the structures of the Palestinian political system.
The Democratic Front said: The pressures exerted by the American administration, through its delegations to the region, including US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, and the National Security Advisor in the White House, Jake Sullivan, and the conditions and dictates it placed on the authority, aim to rebuild the authority’s organs, institutions, and programs. Security, educational, media and financial, and the redistribution of powers, all reveal hidden intentions, aiming to arrest the Palestinian national project, and reformulate its vocabulary, to be consistent with the goals of the United States and Israel, with regard to the future of the West Bank and the project of displacement and annexation, or anything related
to The future of the Gaza Strip, its separation from the West Bank, and the overthrow of the project of an independent Palestinian state with full sovereignty, with Jerusalem as its capital.
The Democratic Front added: These American moves coincide with a series of proposals presented by the Israeli Minister of Finance, Bezalel Smotrich, to steal $6 billion in clearance funds accumulated in Israel, and raise the deduction rate from tax funds to 30%, which leads to a large allocation of the authority’s resources. And creating a structural deficit in its budgets will reflect on the social and security reality and stability in the West Bank.
The Democratic Front also warned against Smotrich’s proposal to recover Norway’s financial deposit allocated to the Gaza Strip from the Authority’s budget, which would further deepen the state of social unrest in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The Democratic Front also warned of the colonial settlement projects that are rearing their head in the West Bank, starting
with the re-legislation of the four settlements in the northern West Bank, all the way to the new old project, which the Netanyahu government is adopting to expand settlement and displacement in the (E1) area east of Jerusalem, which will… It leads to the separation of the northern and southern West Bank, without forgetting the project to annex the settlements south of Hebron, and declare them belonging to the occupied Palestinian Negev.
The Democratic Front confirmed that the risks of the American-Israeli alliance projects are escalating day after day, in an attempt to bring about a political coup in the West Bank, which would put our legitimate national rights and the future of the national issue in jeopardy.
The Democratic Front stressed the necessity of having a national strategy that rises to the level of the event, its developments, and its risks, and abandons the policy of waiting, or betting on the United States, and stops dealing with it, as it is considered an intermediary between the authority
