Manama: The Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gemstones (DANAT) has successfully concluded its jewellery design training programme, marking its first collaboration with Bahraini international designer Noor Mohsen. This initiative aimed to nurture national talent and equip emerging designers with the necessary technical and creative skills for professional careers in the jewellery sector.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the programme offered a comprehensive learning experience that combined theoretical instruction with practical application. Participants were guided through the process of transforming design concepts into professional proposals and received support in creating portfolios that demonstrate their creative capabilities and readiness to pursue opportunities in the jewellery sector.
Noor Mohsen played a pivotal role in developing the participants' technical and artistic skills. She introduced them to professional design methodologies, global industry trends, and strategies for building an individual design identity. Her international experience provided participants with practical insights into the global design environment, enhancing their understanding of creativity, craftsmanship, and market expectations.
Following the programme, participants' portfolios were presented to Al Zain Fine Jewellery, a leading jewellery house in the region. Al Zain selected two outstanding participants for internship opportunities, with the possibility of full-time employment upon successful completion of the training period. This initiative underscores the alignment between the programme's outcomes and the labour market needs, while recognising promising Bahraini talent.
Noora Jamsheer, CEO of DANAT, highlighted that the programme marks a significant milestone in the institute's efforts to support young Bahraini talent. She emphasised that collaborating with Noor Mohsen added immense value by providing participants with practical insights from international markets. Jamsheer also noted that Al Zain Fine Jewellery's selection of participants reflects the quality of DANAT's training outcomes and the potential of Bahraini talent when nurtured in the right environment.
Maher Al Housari, Chief Human Capital Officer of Al Zain Fine Jewellery, expressed the company's pleasure in supporting the initiative. He commended the creativity and attention to detail demonstrated in the portfolios, noting that such programmes enable young designers to transform their ideas into practical skills. Al Housari stressed the importance of supporting local talent for the future of Bahrain's jewellery sector and the wider regional industry.
Noor Mohsen is esteemed as one of Bahrain's leading creative figures on the international stage. She joined the design team at Louis Vuitton, becoming the first Arab designer to contribute to the design of the brand's luxury women's handbags. Her journey from the banking sector to pursuing a master's degree in Jewellery and Bag Design from the Politecnico di Milano in Italy reflects her dedication to her passion for design.
